I have four children, one on his way to college in the Fall and one starting her Senior year.  This means that I am in the heat of receiving the lion’s share of college direct mail.  Now, let me be clear, I love it.  Not only is our company a leader in Higher Ed recruitment strategy, I also genuinely believe in the power of direct mail as part of a larger comprehensive strategy.  That being said, I have the opportunity to watch how they process the information that they received every day.

I want to take some liberties this week and share some of the things my mother taught me.  It is partly work related since my mother was my boss for years in the family business and then business partners for several years before her retirement.

My mom is a wonderful woman who has taught me most of what I know, or at least most of what I need to know.
